The Rolling Hills Casino & Resort in Corning, California, operated by the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians, has scored a first in US gaming history by becoming the first cashless tribal casino.

wager cash-free on any slot machine or table game

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, players will now be able to wager cash-free on any slot machine or table game, which includes those plugged into systems from Konami, Aristocrat, IGT, and Light & Wonder.

Powered by Acres Manufacturing Company’s Cashless Casino technology, the cashless gaming product enables the Paskenta to link their gaming machines to a choice of digital wallets or payment processors. Bluetooth card readers installed on every machine allow players who have installed the Rolling Hills Casino mobile app on their phones to bet cash free.

In a statement marking the historic launch, Rolling Hills GM Antonio Perez said using the latest technology and giving the public what they want has “become a necessary step in the casino industry.”

Acres executive Noah Acres also highlighted the financial benefits of the advanced system. He stated: “Cashless gaming is proven to increase casino profitability by offering more funding options to players who respond by increasing their visit frequency and time played at the casino.”

Acres’ Cashless Casino won Gaming America’s 2023 Product Innovation of the Year award and the brand’s system is now live in cashless casinos across 11 states, with Nevada joining the party “within two months.”
