Arizona Sports Betting Hits New Heights For December
Share This TagsIn December, Arizona witnessed a surge in sports betting revenue, reaching an all-time high despite a decline in handle compared to the previous month. The gross revenue for December amounted to $66.1 million, an increase of 22.1% from the previous year and a remarkable 62.4% ahead of November’s total.
Out of the total revenue, online betting accounted for $65.2 million, retail sportsbooks contributed $625,986, and limited event wagering (LEW) operators generated $240,604. The total wagers placed during the month amounted to $693.3 million, with online spend at $685.1 million, retail sportsbooks at $6.4 million, and LEW operators at $1.8 million.
Additionally, $17.8 million in free bets and promotional credits were noted in December, with the majority coming from online betting. Adjusted gross sports betting revenue for the month reached a record high of $48.3 million, marking a 30.3% increase compared to December 2022 and a significant 139.4% surge from November’s revenue.
FanDuel emerged as the leader in the online market in Arizona, reporting adjusted revenue of $23.7 million from a total of $236.3 million in wagers. DraftKings and Crown Gaming followed closely behind with $13.8 million in revenue from $228.5 million in wagers.
BetMGM secured the third position with $6.1 million in revenue from an $82.7 million handle. When it comes to retail operations, DraftKings and Crown Gaming dominated the market, generating $361,037 in adjusted revenue from $2.7 million in bets. FanDuel, the only other operator in this segment, posted adjusted revenue of $260,248 from $2.1 million in wagers.
