yearn是一个支持多种DeFi协议的聚合理财平台，会在协议间自动移仓以帮助储户获取最高的理财收益 。平台聚合Compound、dYdX、Aave、DDEX协议，用户存款时，平台会将资金自动分配至目前收益最高的协议下。然后yearn会给用户一个称为yToken的权益证明，用户可以通过ytoken取出自己原来存入的代币及相应的收益。


YFI将于7月26日停止挖矿，为了保证流动性不大规模从挖矿中撤出，社区治理YIP-8提出了增发提案，对每个矿池的每周增发量进行减半。虽然该提案得到了80%以上的支持率，但因为总得票率未达到最低要求33%从而失效。为保证Andre的天才构思和系统不被前期巨鲸账户所控制，对YFI项目进行分叉，代号为YFII。YFII采取类似Bitcoin的减半增发机制，保证token更公平的分发到社区成员手中。


YFII总量6万枚，三个Pool各2万枚，每个Pool初始状态1万枚，每7天产量减半，根据Defi用户为各个Pool提供流动性的份额分配对应比例的YFII，YFII将在未来10周内完成全部分发。
