Following continued reports in the Philippines press that Galaxy Entertainment the Macau casino operator was considering developing a resort in Boracay in the Philippines, the company has come out to deny these reports.
Back in 2017 the Macau operator was rumoured to be interested in developing a $500 million resort in the location and recent comments from Albee Benitez, a businessman and local politician that he would welcome a joint venture with Galaxy Entertainment fuelled speculation that Galaxy may well be interested were quickly put down by the company with saying, “Galaxy is not considering re-entering Boracay to develop a resort, contrary to some recent media reports.”
Indeed the operator continued by saying, “Our focus is on the full reopening of Macau, ramping up our recently launched Phase 3 and the construction of Phase 4.”
