Maryland Hits Over $263 Million in August Sports Betting Revenues

Mobile saw over 94% of all bets placed in August
Maryland sports betting helped contribute over $2.5 million to state taxes in August following the announcement of the latest figures from the industry for the month.
In total revenues from sports betting hit $263.7 million for the month with mobile bets taking the huge majority of that with 94.9% of all bets placed adding up to $250.4 million for the month.
Breaking down the tax contribution that means mobile gambling gave $2.5 million in taxes and retail sports betting gave $97.96 million.
Two new retails outlets opened during the month with both Canton Gaming and its partner Parx Interactive along with Whitman Gaming and its partner launched opening at the end of the month.
Maryland launched with five retail sports books in December 2021 followed by seven mobile offerings in November 2022.
The state now has a total of 12 retail and 12 mobile offerings for state residents to gamble.
