The state’s casinos, racetracks and other partners saw an 8.2% increase in total gaming revenue in July over last year, though in-person gaming, the metric by which the casinos measure their success, remained down, new figures revealed Friday.

Total gaming revenue was $547.8 million last month, according to figures released by the state Division of Gaming Enforcement.

“Atlantic City’s total gaming revenue reached its highest level for the month of July in over a decade, thanks to near-record internet gaming win and strong sports wagering revenue,” said James Plousis, chairman of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission, in a statement…

Despite the increase in overall gaming revenue, brick-and-mortar gross gaming revenue saw a more than 6% drop, according to the data.
