Share This TagsThe Star Entertainment Group Ltd has announced the highly anticipated phased launch of its AUD3.6-billion (US$2.4-billion) integrated resort, The Star Brisbane. After multiple delays, the project is set to open its doors progressively from August 29, 2024.
The Star Brisbane, located within the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, is poised to become a world-class destination, offering a diverse array of gaming, dining, and leisure experiences. This ambitious project, developed by the Destination Brisbane Consortium, will see the relocation of the existing Treasury Casino and the introduction of a new, state-of-the-art integrated resort.
Recognizing the significance of this launch, The Star Entertainment Group has opted for a phased approach to ensure a seamless and exceptional guest experience. The company’s Chief Executive, Daniel Finch, emphasized the importance of this strategy, stating, “We want to ensure our team members are prepared, our facilities have been tested, our processes are right, and importantly, our guests have an exceptional experience that they will talk about and come back to experience again.”
The phased launch of The Star Brisbane will see the progressive opening of various facilities and amenities. The main casino floor and premium gaming rooms are set to open on August 29, 2024, marking the initial phase of the resort’s unveiling. This will be followed by the opening of the iconic “The Star Grand” hotel, which promises to redefine luxury accommodation in the region.
As the phased launch continues, a steady stream of new restaurants, bars, and public spaces will begin opening throughout the remainder of 2024. These diverse offerings will enliven the previously underutilized 12 hectares (29.7 acres) of the river’s edge, transforming the area into a vibrant hub of activity and entertainment.
The Star Brisbane’s gaming operations will be subject to regulatory oversight, with the casino operator having an entitlement to 2,500 gaming machines, although the final number installed at opening may vary. The number of table games will also be determined by the casino operator within the approved gaming floor area.
