Nevada: Olympia Gaming “cybersecurity event” affects payouts, rewards program

An on-site visit to Legends Bay Casino by CDC Gaming confirmed the recently reported cybersecurity event’s effect on operations at the Sparks, Nevada casino. Olympia Gaming’s other northern Nevada casino, Casino Fandango in Carson City, likely has the same systems affected.

Though reported only yesterday by local news, the cyberattack dates back to Wednesday, June 12th according to employees. While the casino remains open and operational, on-site signage states the massive effects on operations at Legends Bay Casino:

In addition, ATMs are down. The Circa Sportsbook was not impacted.

Olympia Gaming says they are working with “national cybersecurity specialists to investigate the full nature and scope of the incident and to restore operations.” They also believe that no personal or sensitive information has been or will be disclosed.

As of 2:25 pm ET on June 20th, 2024, the casino’s website appeared mostly operational except when logging into the rewards account which displays the message “clubacct.legendsbaycasino.com took too long to respond.”

There is currently no timeline for a full restoration of operations.

Legends Bay Casino opened on August 30, 2022 as the Reno-Sparks area’s first new ground-up casino in over 20 years. According to the casino’s website, it has over 650 slots.
