Bloomberry Has No Plans On Thailand Casino Resort Just Yet
Share This TagsBloomberry Resorts Corporation, the Philippines-based gaming and hospitality company, has made it clear that it has no immediate plans to enter the Thai gambling market. Despite the potential opportunities in Thailand, Bloomberry’s leadership has expressed caution and a preference to concentrate on strengthening its position in its existing operational areas.
Bloomberry’s Chief Executive Officer, Enrique Razon Jr., recently stated that the company is not yet ready to venture into the Thai gaming industry. Razon cited the need to first solidify Bloomberry’s foothold in the Philippines and South Korea before considering any expansion into new territories.
Bloomberry’s primary focus remains on optimizing its operations in the Philippines, where it owns and operates the Solaire Resort & Casino in Manila. The company has also established a presence in South Korea, with the launch of its Jeju Sun Hotel & Casino on the island of Jeju.
Razon acknowledged the regulatory hurdles that Bloomberry would need to navigate in order to enter the Thai market. The country’s gaming laws are still evolving, and the government’s stance on casino operations remains uncertain. Bloomberry’s leadership prefers to wait for greater clarity on the regulatory landscape before making any significant investments in Thailand.
While Bloomberry is not actively pursuing opportunities in Thailand, the company has outlined various growth strategies to strengthen its position in its existing markets.
In the Philippines, Bloomberry is exploring opportunities to expand its Solaire Resort & Casino, potentially adding new hotel towers and gaming facilities to cater to the growing demand. Additionally, the company is diversifying its offerings by venturing into non-gaming amenities, such as retail and dining experiences, to enhance the overall appeal of its integrated resort.
Bloomberry’s focus in South Korea is on enhancing the Jeju Sun Hotel & Casino, which it acquired in 2015. The company is investing in upgrades and renovations to improve the property’s facilities and attract a larger share of the island’s tourism market.
While Thailand is not currently on Bloomberry’s radar, the company is keeping a close eye on other emerging gaming markets in Asia. Razon has indicated that Bloomberry may consider expansion into these markets, but only after solidifying its presence in the Philippines and South Korea.
