Share This TagsGalaxy Entertainment Group has unveiled its plans for a new luxury hotel tower to be established at its Galaxy Macau resort. The hotel, provisionally titled ‘Capella at Galaxy Macau’, is slated to open its doors in the middle of 2025.
Galaxy Entertainment has chosen to collaborate with Capella Hotels and Resorts for this new venture. This partnership represents a significant step forward for both entities, as it amalgamates Galaxy’s expertise in providing luxury experiences with Capella’s globally renowned brand image, say the company.
The upcoming hotel will stand at a majestic 17-storeys high, making it the eighth hotel at the Galaxy Macau resort. The design for the hotel’s 36 villas and 57 suites is being undertaken by the famed Paris-based design house, Moinard – Bétaille. The suites are set to carry a unique “jungle-themed” aesthetic, providing guests with an immersive experience that blends luxury with a sense of adventure.
The new hotel is set to offer a range of top-tier amenities to its guests. Each villa is designed to come equipped with a balcony that features an infinity-edge pool, an outdoor lounge, a sunroom, and a winter garden. Specifics regarding the floor area for the villas and suites have not been made available at this stage.
The establishment of Capella at Galaxy Macau represents a strategic expansion for the parent group of Capella Hotels and Resorts into the Greater Bay Area. This region encompasses Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau, and is a significant economic and social hub under the aegis of China’s central government.
In keeping with the luxury theme, the hotel will be home to an in-house restaurant helmed by Michelin-starred chef Vicky Cheng. This is expected to provide guests with an exquisite culinary experience that combines world-class gastronomy with the unique ambiance of the hotel.
In addition to standard amenities, the hotel will include a members-only lounge, designed by renowned Hong Kong interior designer Albert Kwan. Kwan’s portfolio includes notable establishments like The China Club in Hong Kong and China Tang at the Dorchester in London, UK.
Galaxy Entertainment has announced an overall investment budget of HKD43 billion (US$5.49 billion) for the Galaxy Macau property. The resort is set to cover a vast area of 1.1 million square meters (11.8 million sq. feet).
Currently, the Galaxy Macau complex, including the Broadway Hotel located opposite, offers nearly 5,000 rooms, suites, and villas to its guests. The existing hotels within the complex are Banyan Tree Macau, Galaxy Hotel, Hotel Okura Macau, JW Marriott Hotel Macau, The Ritz-Carlton, Raffles at Galaxy Macau, and Andaz Macau.
